If you are seeing an "Area Error", "Out of Market", or generic "Device Error" exclusively on your Amazon Fire TV Stick, please follow these steps in order. These steps force the device to refresh your location data and clear old cache files.
1. Clear Cache and Data
This resets the app without uninstalling it.
Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.
Find and select Altitude+.
Select Clear Cache and then select Clear Data.
Re-open the app and log in again.
2. Check App Permissions
Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.
Select Altitude+ > Permissions.
Ensure Location is set to "Allow" or "Allowed only while in use".
3. Verify Amazon Device Location
Your Fire Stick may be syncing an old address from your Amazon profile.
Go to Settings > Preferences > Location.
Enter your Zip Code.
Note: If this is incorrect, update your address in your Amazon.com account settings under "Content & Devices" and restart your Fire Stick.
4. Reboot Your Network (Crucial for Location Errors)
If your TV says you are "Out of Market" but you are home:
Unplug your Internet Router/Modem from the power outlet.
Wait 30 seconds.
Plug it back in and wait for the internet to reconnect.
Restart your Fire Stick.
5. Update System Software
Go to Settings > My Fire TV > About.
Select Check for Updates or Install Update.
